UK Rail Strike

Hello there,

What is the newest situation on 25-26 May?

I purchased a BritRail Consecutive Pass (8 days) and will activate on 23 May upon arrival at London (from HK). I planned to travel from Aberdeen to Fort William on 25 May, and then head to Edinburgh starting from 26 May. Need some help and advice desperately, thank you!

Regards,

Cliff

Hello Cliff,

Thanks for your question.

You would just need to validate the pass and travel. You would have to check for train schedules locally at the train station itself.

You will be aware that the RMT Union has announced that its members who work for track and infrastructure operator Network Rail will be taking industrial action on Bank Holiday Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th May.

Talks between Network Rail and the trades union are continuing this week and these may lead to a resolution of the dispute. However, should the planned action go ahead, it is expected that there will be a severe impact on rail services on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th May.

We appreciate that many customers will have their travel plans disrupted by the announced industrial action, so train companies have agreed to put in place special ticketing arrangements to make it easier for customers to complete their journey by using their tickets at other times.

For any further queries regarding the same may I request you to contact our fulfillment team.

Hope this helps!!!

Regards,

Anthony, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
