Travelling around and within France

Hello!

My cousins and I will be travelling in Europe in July (mostly within France) and require your assistance regarding what sort of pass to purchase. Below is our itinerary:

1st of July: Amsterdam to Paris

5th of July: Paris to Carcassonne

7th of July: Carcassonne to Marseille

9th of July: Marseille to Cannes

11th of July: Cannes to Nice

13th of July: Nice to Milan

We are unsure as to whether we should just purchase the France Pass and how many travel days should we include. Can all the cities we are planning to visit in France be reached by train as well? How would we also go about making seat reservations on the respective trains?

Please advice us on the appropriate routes we should take and passes we should purchase for this trip. Thanks so much and have a great day(:

Warm regards,

Pooja

Hello Pooja,

Thanks for the question.

It is best to purchase France Rail Pass for your travel in France.

You will avail passholder fares for your travel from Amsterdam to Paris hence you will have to purchase Seat Reservation for your travel on this route.

From Nice to Milan you will have purchase point to point ticket.

You can book and travel as follows :

- Nice to MilanThello train.

Yes, all the cities in France are reached by train under your France Rail Pass.

To purchase France Rail Pass click “Here”.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass.

In order to book seat reservations, please visit our website.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on “Seat Reservations” & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,
