Travel from Paris to Lausanne on 22/07/2014.

Stay in Lausanne on 23 & 24 of July. Take day trips to Montreaux, Chillon-Veytraux and Rochers de Naye.

Travel from Lausanne to Basel on 25/07/2014. If we buy a pass, can we use for a boat trip in a lake?

We are 2 seniors traveling together. Is it cheaper to buy saver tickets or point to point ticket?

How much reserve seat reservation for Paris-Lausanne and Laussane to Basil?

Hello Reiko,

Thanks for your question.

As per current information, there are no direct trains to Lausanne, you would have to break your journey at Basel as below:

- PARIS GARE LYONLAUSANNE via BASEL SBB

- LAUSANNE - BASEL SBB: Eurocities

However please note that your travel sectors can be booked only 3 months in advance.

Please try again later closer to your departure dates.

Hope this helps!!!

Dear Priyanka,

Thank you for your answer. However, I am looking at the TGV-Lyria website, and it shows a direct train rom Paris to Lausanne that takes about 3 hr 47min. I understand it is too early to buy tickets at this time. However, my question was which way is cheaper, to buy a France-Switzerland pass with saver plan or to buy point-to-point tickets for our trip?

Hello Reiko,

Thanks for your question again.

A rail pass allows you to travel extensively within the countries you have chosen. If you plan only 2 - 3 train journeys during your stay in Europe, point to point tickets will certainly be cheaper than a rail pass and ensure you save money.

As per the current information there are direct trains connecting Paris to Lausanne.

- PARIS GARE LYON – LAUSANNE: TGV Lyria

In order to book tickets, please visit our website

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then Add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!
