Travel from Paris to Assisi

Hi there,

My girlfriend and I will be traveling from Paris to Assisi coming up in August.

We've been trying to figure out the best way to do this.

We've been looking at the Eurail Pass for France and Italy, but aren't quite sure how that would work for getting there because it looks like we have to make reservations for most of the trains. We aren't sure how to make those reservations and from what we understand there is an additional cost to get on some of those trains (especially night trains).

So we are just trying to figure out what would be the most cost effective way to do this. Would it be possible to travel just be day trains from town to town on the Eurail pass over the course of a day to get to Assisi? or does it make more sense to purchase the Eurail pass and get a reservation? How much is the additional cost for the reservation? Does it make sense just to purchase individual tickets?

We also will head back after about four days there to Taize, France.

Thanks

Charles

Hello Charles,

Thanks for your question.

As you are not traveling extensively, I suggest you purchase a point-to-point ticket.

Your travel will be as follows –

- Paris to MilanEuronight Train

- Milan to Assisi Intercity Train

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then Add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!
