Train tickets vs France rail pass

Hello, I will travel to France for 8 days in the coming Christmas holidays. I will go to Strasbourg, Colmar, Paris and Rouen (Will stay at Strasbourg and Paris). Train tickets or France Rail Pass which one suit me more? What is the exact reservation fee for every trip if i use the rail pass and have the seat reservation? Thanks

Dear Suk,

Thank you for your question.

Rail Pass is advised if you have more then 5 train journeys.

The France Rail Pass is the ultimate pass to explore France, the world’s most popular tourist destination.

With a pass you can travel free only on regional TER trains.

Despite having a pass reservations are mandatory with additional cost on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "seat reservation" when using your rail pass & then feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on search tickets. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the fare details tab for the specification of the seats and the after sales policy of the tickets.

Hope this helps!!!
