Taking a kayak-paddle bag Prague to Vienna

I would like to take a kayak paddle bag with me by train, travelling Prague to Vienna (or Bratislava). It is very light (only 6kg) but long (2.3 metres x 35cm at widest point). It contains three kayak paddles plus helmet and buoyancy-aid, i.e. all sports gear. Is it possible to take this item by train? I would have one other piece of luggage (suitcase) plus hand-luggage. If so, which train company would be best? And how much does sports luggage like this cost?

We often fly with this bag internationally, so we are presuming it will also be OK by train. Date of travel will be July 2 or 3, 2017.

Many thanks, Sandra.

Dear Sandra,

Thanks for the question.

You will not be able to travel with a Kayak Paddle bag in the train for the sector you wish to travel to.

Best Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
