Hello Mrinal,

Thanks for the question.

As per your Itinerary, you can purchase Swiss Travel Pass for your travel in Switzerland and point to point tickets for your travel in Italy.

To purchase Swiss Travel Pass click "Here".

If you Pass is within the validity period for your travel from Zurich to Milan, you can travel from Zurich to Brig with your Pass and purchase point to point tickets from Brig to Milan. However, if your Pass is not within the validity period, you will need to purchase point to point tickets from Zurich to Milan.

You can follow the below procedure for point to point tickets:

- Zurich to Milan - Eurocities train.

OR

- Brig to Milan - Eurocities train.

- Milan to Florence - Frecciarossa train.

- Florence to Rome - Frecciarossa train.

Swiss Travel Pass Details –

Children below 16 years are free if accompanied by at least one parent having a Swiss Pass. We issue a Swiss family card for children.

With a Swiss Travel Pass you can travel free within Switzerland on the STS (Swiss Travel System) network on trains, buses, boats and trams. Also with a Swiss Pass you would get discounts on mountain excursions within Switzerland. These discounts can only be availed locally by showing your Swiss Pass to the ticketing office in Switzerland.

With a Swiss Travel Pass you can travel free on intercity trains within Switzerland. You will require compulsory seat reservations on Scenic trains.

Point to point ticket procedure.

In order to book tickets, you would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

The route to Mt Titlis is as follows:

Lucerne – Engelberg – Titlis

Lucerne – Engelberg : Free with the Swiss Pass.

Engelberg to Mt Titlis – cable car ride. You will have to book this sector locally. With a Swiss Pass you will get discounts on mountain excursions.

Hope this helps!!!

Kind Regards,

Thanks for the response and clearing lot of question. I still have few questions.

1. Can I buy Point to point pass once I reach their or do I need to book the same in advance?

2 How I will cover Chur to Triano. route

3. As an observation, I see if I buy Eurail pass most of the ticket goes half in Italy. isn't if buy point to point ticket in Italy my ticket price will go high?

4. what if Include Venice also in this plan and go Venice from Milan and the Florence?

Hello Mrinal,

Thanks for your reply.

1. It is advised to purchase tickets prior your travel in order to receive confirmed seats as tickets purchased locally at the train station are subject to availability. However, if you want to purchase tickets at the train station you can which is subject to availability.

2. Bernina Express train runs from Chur to Tirano. As it is a scenic train, seat reservation is compulsory with a Pass hence the same has to be purchased.

3. With a Eurail Pass, local transport is not included. Swiss Travel Pass has local transport included hence you can compare the cost of 1. Swiss Travel Pass and point to point ticket in Italy and 2. Eurail Switzerland-Italy Pass along with seat reservations and book accordingly.

4. You can compare the cost of the above options and include Venice as well and book as per your convenience.

Please note the below information with a Eurail Pass.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will receive pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

Kindly note that pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "I have a rail Pass" on the home page of our website under "Book Train tickets" & then select the name of the pass and feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on "Search". Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Hope this helps!!!

Kind Regards,
