Swiss Half fare pass + Italy Pass or individual tickets in Italy

We are 2 adults planning to travel to Italy and Switzerland.

We are thinking to purchase a Swiss Half fare pass + Italy

Pass or individual tickets in Italy.

  1. If we purchase the Italy Pass + Swiss Half fare

pass, does it cover our journey from Venice to Lucerne? Or do we have to purchase

    single trip ticket for this?

Our train journey as follows:

Day 1: Arrive at Fiumicino Aeroporto to Roma Termini

Day 2: Rome

Day 3: Rome – Pisa

Day 4: Pisa – Florence

Day 5: Florence

Day 6: Florence – Venice

Day 7: Venice

Day 8: Venice – Lucerne

Day 9: i) Luzern – Engelberg – Mt Titlis – Engelberg – Luzern (to Mt Titles) then

ii) Golden

Pass from Luzern to Interlaken

Day 10: i) Interlaken

OST – Jungfraujoch - Interlaken OST

Evening train from Interlaken OST – Bern

Day 11: Bern – Zurich

Day 12: Zurich – Airport

Please advise which pass should we purchase? Thanks.

Hello Michele,

Thanks for the question.

You can purchase Eurail Italy - Switzerland Pass for your travel.

To purchase the Pass click "Here".

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

Kindly note that pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "I have a rail Pass" on the home page of our website under "Book Train tickets" & then select the name of the pass and feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on "Search". Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

The route to Jungfraujoch is as follows:

Interlaken – Grindelwald/ Lauterbrunnen – Jungfraujoch.

Interlaken – Grindelwald/ Lauterbrunnen : Free with the Pass

Grindelwald/ Lauterbrunnen– Jungfraujoch : Mountain Train/Cable Car ride, has to be booked locally. You will get a discount with the Pass.

The route to Mt Titlis is as follows:

Lucerne – Engelberg – Titlis

Lucerne – Engelberg : Free with the Pass.

Engelberg to Mt Titlis – cable car ride. You will have to book this sector locally. With a Pass you will get discounts on mountain excursions.

Hope this helps!!!

Kind Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
