Reservation included and Not included

Hi,

I have booked rail tickets for Toulouse Matabiau to Lourdes on 14/0/2015 and Lourdes to Toulouse on 16/07/2015 with my family. I received the tickets by post. While going through the details I saw the following:

Forward+ Return: 14/07/2015 16:13 TOULOUSE MATABIAU 14/07/2015 18:11 LOURDES 4 travellers EUR 236 - Intercites 14551

Direct - 1h58m

Reservation included

16/07/2015 06:22 LOURDES 16/07/2015 08:29 TOULOUSE MATABIAU TER 72706

Direct - 2h07m Reservation not included

I wonder why it is mentioned on the second part of the journey "Reservation Not included" and on the first part it says that “Reservation Included”.

Kindly answer the following questions.

1. What is the difference between reserved and unreserved?

2. How can we reserve the second part also?

3. What will happen if we don't reserve?

4. Will we still get a seat to sit?

I tried calling the GCC number and no one answered my call.

Awaiting your reply.

Thanks

Hello Bino,

Thanks for your question.

" Reservation Not Included" means it is an open ticket and one can travel any time as per the availability of the train within the validity printed on the ticket. Please note that an open ticket can be used to travel on Intercity trains only. Also an open ticket allows you to board the train, but does not guarantee you a seat. You can make a seat reservation to have a guaranteed seat on the train. You cannot travel with an open ticket on high speed trains, night trains, and scenic trains.

You can make a seat reservation locally at the train station to have a guaranteed seat on the train.

" Reservation Included" means seat reservation cost is included with the cost you pay for your ticket and it guarantees you a seat.

Hope this helps!!!
