Planning to travel in switzerland.

We are planning the trip in April 2017 in Switzerland. Fly to Zurich.

we are 4 ladies, our point is 1 lady 62 yrs old and 1 use wheel chair (can little walk) - have special tickets for these 2 ladies?

Does Swiss pass 3 days include Bernina & Glacier Express? We'd like to travel with Bernina Express 1 day and Glacier Express 1 day but have no clue where we should stop and the third day we will use Swiss pass to Luzern and stay there 3 nights before fly out (get the cab to the airport).

Our idea is we would like to visit Montreux&Chillon, Matterhorn&zermatt, Giessbach Fall & Briez Lake, Oschinesnsee, Reichenbach Falls

We have no idea which train ,Bernina or Glacier, will pass those destination.

Kindly help us the plan.

Much appreciate in advance for your kind assistance.

Hello Tan,

Thanks for the question.

As you are travelling extensively in Switzerland you can purchase the Swiss Travel Pass for your travel.

Swiss Pass Details –

Children below 16 years are free if accompanied by the at least one parent having a Swiss Pass. We issue a Swiss family card for children.

With a Swiss Travel Pass you can travel free within Switzerland on the STS (Swiss Travel System) network on trains, buses and boats. Also with a Swiss Pass you would get discounts on mountain excursions within Switzerland. These discounts can only be availed locally by showing your Swiss Pass to the ticketing office in Switzerland.

To purchase the Pass click "here".

Regarding the special ticket, we do not have such ticket on our website. For wheelchair assistance you can check at the train station.

The route for Bernina and Glacier Express is as below, you can plan your travel accordingly.

Bernina Express - Chur/Davos/St. Moritz > Bernina Pass > Poschiavo > Tirano (> Lugano)

Glacier Express - Zermatt > Visp > Brig > Andermatt > Disentis > Chur > Davos/St. Moritz

Seat Reservations are mandatory for Scenic trains which cost extra.

In order to book seat reservations, please visit our website.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on “Seat Reservations” & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Amar, Rail Europe Travel Expert.

Hi again,

I come up with my plan finally.

Day 1 : Geneva -> Les Diablerets

Day 2: Cable car to Mt.Glacier 3000

Day 3 : Les Diablerets -> Zetmatt

Day 4 : Zermatt -> Andermatt ->Luzern -> Lake Luzern cruise

Q1. I am wondering should i buy Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare pass.

How different? please advise.

Q2. both Swiss Travel Pass and Swiss Half Fare Pass cover cable car to mt.Glacier 3000 or not? And activities up there get the discount?

Q3. buy ticket from you online will cheaper than via agent in my country?

Buy ticket online will be same price at Geneva airport or not?

The longer i buy, the cheaper price i pay?

Q4. Zermatt -> Andermatt I have to reserve the seat with extra pay, but the other is no need to reserve seat, correct?

thank you for your reply.
