One week travel in Switzerland from Geneva

Hello, we just bought the Swiss Travel pass for our family of 7 (adults and teens). We will be staying in Geneva for the entire week due to family reasons but our plan is to visit Bern, Lucern, Interlaken, Zurich Chamonix, Mt Blanc, Jungfrau and Mt. Titlis. We can get up early and come back late night to use maximum hours. Since Geneva is on one side of the country, I would appreciate if I could get your help in planning the itinerary. Thanks in advance!!

Hello Sir/Madam,

Thanks for the question.

As you have purchased Swiss Travel Pass, you can follow the below route:

- Geneva - Bern - Interlaken - Jungfraujoch - Lucerne - Mt Titlis - Zurich - Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.

You will need to purchase point to point ticket from Martigny to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. You can follow the below route:

- Martigny to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc via Vallorcine - Eurocities and TER trains.

Children below 16 years are free if accompanied by at least one parent having a Swiss Pass. We issue a Swiss family card for children.

With a Swiss Travel Pass you can travel free within Switzerland on the STS (Swiss Travel System) network on trains, buses and boats. Also with a Swiss Pass you would get discounts on mountain excursions within Switzerland. These discounts can only be availed locally by showing your Swiss Pass to the ticketing office in Switzerland.

With a Swiss Travel Pass you can travel free on intercity trains within Switzerland. You will require compulsory seat reservations on Scenic trains.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

The route to Jungfraujoch is as follows:

Interlaken – Grindelwald/ Lauterbrunnen – Jungfraujoch.

Interlaken – Grindelwald/ Lauterbrunnen : Free with the Swiss Pass

Grindelwald/ Lauterbrunnen– Jungfraujoch : Mountain Train/Cable Car ride, has to be booked locally. You will get a discount with the Swiss Travel Pass.

The route to Mt Titlis is as follows:

Lucerne – Engelberg – Titlis

Lucerne – Engelberg : Free with the Swiss Pass.

Engelberg to Mt Titlis – cable car ride. You will have to book this sector locally. With a Swiss Pass you will get discounts on mountain excursions.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Thank you very much. Just to clarify, with swiss passes, we do not need to reserve any train other than scenic trains. Correct? So if we are just using regular trains, we do not need to reserve anything. I have purchased family travel pass to include my kids. My father will use wheel chair for long distances. I saw in the reviews that there is no designated space for the wheel chairs in the trains. Also, out of Titlis and Jungfraujoch, which journey is more wheel chair friendly?

Hello Sir/Madam,

Thanks for your reply.

With a Swiss Travel Pass, you can travel on all the trains except Scenic trains which require compulsory seat reservations. You will avail discount on mountain trains and cable cars which has to be checked locally as it is not bookable on the website.

For wheelchair assistance, kindly visit the below link:

Unfortunately we cannot comment about which journey is more wheelchair friendly.
