No TGV from Gare de Lyon-Perrache to Paris?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am searching a TGV on June 13 from Gare de Lyon-Perrache to Paris Gare de Lyon. However, I can only find TGVs from Lyon Part-Dieu to Paris Gare de Lyon on that day. Is there no TGV from Gare de Lyon-Perrache to Paris Gare de Lyon on June 13?

Looking forward to receiving your reply.

With best regards,

Shih Ju Liu

Hello Shih Ju Liu,

Thanks for the question.

We only sell trains to Lyon Part Dieu train station. If you wish to book for Lyon Perrache train station you need to check and book locally which will be subject to availability.

- Lyon to Paris - Direct TGV train.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Amar, Rail Europe Travel Expert.

Hello Amar,

Thanks for your rapid reply! It's really helpful. But I still have two more questions to make sure.

First, as your reply, "If you wish to book for Lyon Perrache train station you need to check and book locally which will be subject to availability." Dose it mean I cannot book online for Lyon Perrache train station? Is the only way that I can buy the ticket when I am at Lyon Perrache train station?

Secondly, I heard that the inter-union railway workers, opposed to the reform of the SNCF, opted Thursday, March 15 for a hard move, a strike at the rate of "two days out of five" for three months from April. Thus, if I book the TGV ticket for June 13 now, is it still possible to be cancelled then, due to the said strike?

Looking forward to receiving your reply!

Best Regards,

Shih Ju Liu, A tourist from Taiwan.

Hello Shih Ju Liu,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes the trains from Lyon Perrache train station cannot be booked on the website. You will need to check and book once at the train station which will be subject to availability.

As of now there is no information regarding the strike cancellation of trains. Hence if you book you can check with us closer to departure date if there is any cancellation of train due to strike and we will assist you further.

Kind Regards,

Hello Amar,

Thanks for your reply agian! It's really helpful, and I really appreciate it. But I'm still worried about the said strike, and would like to ask one more question.

I will fly a long distance to France for travelling. Due to tight itinerary, I try to confirm all details, in order to save time. Thus, I can only take a Direct TGV train on June 13 from Southern to Northern France. On the next day, June 14, I have to arrive another city, and have already reserved a room and a rental car. If the said strike really occurs to disturb my itinerary, I will get a huge money loss.

Under the mentioned situation, my question is, if there is really cancellation of the TGV train I book, will you assist me to transfer to another TGV train "on the same day" for sure? Then, it won't affect my following itinerary. If you can't promise it, I may consider to drive to Paris. So, your answer will influence my decision.

Kind Regards,

Shih Ju Liu
