We are 2 travellers (always traveling together) looking to purchase a railpass from Amsterdam-Netherlands to Kohln-Germany then to Antwerpen-Belgium and then to Paris-France. We will be staying in each place for 2-3 days at a time. Could you kindly recommend the best and most economical pass to purchase? Is it necessary to book the trains in advance as we need to apply for visa and have proof of entrance into France.

Hello Lene,

Thanks for the question.

As you are travelling only few cities in each countries it is best to purchase point to point ticket for your travel. You can book and travel as follows :

- Amsterdam to Cologne - ICE train.

- Cologne to Antwerp via 1 connection at Brussels - ICE and Intercity trains.

- Antwerp to Paris - Thalys train.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

For requirements of visa you will need to check with the visa authority. Purchasing ticket at the train station is subject to availability, hence we advise purchasing tickets online in advance to have a hassle free journey.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Amar, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
