Italy to Greece.

Hi,

I am wondering how is the route if I wish to get from Italy to Greece. Any cities are ok, like Rome to Athens or Milan to Athens.

Is it possible to get though the whole route by train? I found some suggestions that are by ferries or flights.

Any feedback would be appreciated :)

Hello Ling Fung Shek,

Thanks for your question.

The best route from Italy to Greece would be via ferry services rather than by rail as it would be real long and hectic with multiple connections.

You could also opt for the Attica Pass which is the most convenient pass to travel between Italy and Greece and around the Greek islands on board ferries operated by Attica group (Superfast ferries and Blue Star Ferry). With just one pass, you can take 6 ferry crossings, consisting of 2 international crossings between Italy and Greece, and 4 domestic crossings to reach the Greek islands.

Travel as follows:

- Milan to AnconaFrecciabianca train. (Book locally and avail special pass holder fares with the Attica Pass).

- Ancona to Patras – Ferry Service. (Book locally).

- Patras to Athens – Book and travel locally.

Or

- Rome to Bari – Frecciargento train.

- Ancona to Patras – Ferry Service. (Book locally and avail special pass holder fares with the Attica Pass).

- Patras to Athens – Book locally.

To purchase the Eurail Attica Pass click “Here”.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!
