Hello Hina,

Thanks for the question.

May I know all the cities you will be traveling to in order of your travel along with your travel date and preferred class of service so that I can assist you with the best Rail product.

Kindly also advise if you will be traveling by local transport within Switzerland, for how many days you will be residing in Switzerland and if you will be traveling everyday.

Awaiting your reply.

Kind Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.

Hello Leora,

Thanks for your response.

I will be arriving in Rome and intend to visit Naples, Venice Pompeii and Florence.

In Swiss, I will be staying in Zurich, and intend to go to Zermatt, Rhein Falls, St. Moritz and Bern.

So I need to know how shud i connect these two countries. Which two cities can be the shortest connection time.

The last time I was in Swiss, I used the Trains as it stops at each city.

5 days in Rome and 5 days in Swiss.

Hello Hina,

Thanks for your reply.

With regards to your itinerary, you can purchase Eurail Italy - Switzerland Pass for your travel.

To purchase the Pass click "Here".

The bordering station in Italy is Como and in Switzerland is Chiasso and the total travel time between both the cities is approximately 8 minutes by train.

As per your Itinerary and the cities you have provided, the closest city in Italy towards Switzerland is Venice and in Switzerland is Zermatt.

With a Eurail Pass, 2 children up to age 11 travel for free with each adult. Hence 6 year old child passenger has to be added in the Pass under "Child" where the child will not be charged. Please note, you will need to purchase seat reservation for the child passenger as well.

If the child passenger is getting charged, do not go ahead with the booking. You can contact us if the same happens and we will assist you further.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will receive pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

Kindly note that pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "I have a rail Pass" on the home page of our website under "Book Train tickets" & then select the name of the pass and feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on "Search". Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
