Italy-Greece trip during Christmas

My parents and I are planning a 10-day Christmas trip to Italy and Greece. We are planning to start from Rome, stay for 2-3 days, the Florence and Pisa for 3 days, Athens for 2 days and nearby small islands for a few days.

Which kind of pass is the best choice for us? Shall we take the two country rail pass? Do we need to pay more for seat reservation when we have the rail pass? Can we take the ferry with rail pass?

Thank you!

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

As you will be travelling and using ferry for your travel between Greek Islands and from Italy to Greece as well you can purchase the Eurail Italy- Greece pass for your travel.

To purchase the pass click "Here".

You will receive discounts for the ferry with the pass on purchase at the port, you can check the same under the benefit section on the pass page.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass which will cost extra.

In order to book seat reservations, please visit our website.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on “Seat Reservations” & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,
