Our flight arrives at Milan and we have hotel in Venice, we stay there a few days and then we want to travel in other cities too. we would like to save some money by buying the pass and travel with trains. Hello Diana,

Thanks for the question.

As Milan to Venice is via Frecciarossa train which is a high speed train, seat reservation is mandatory for your travel with Eurail Italy Pass.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

May I know all the cities you wish to travel to along with your travel date so that I can assist you with the best Rail product.

Awaiting your reply.

Kind Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.

Hello, again thanks for your answer. The problem is that this is our first trip in our lifes and we want to make it perfect, that is why I want to know the best way to travel. I now find about this pass but the reviews are different, some of the guys saying that you have to pay something more for fast trains, even if you have a pass. The Italy pass is refering to "Italian Intercity, Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca, and Italian International which require additional seat reservations" which I understand. Frecciabianca is travel to Venice so the pass should be ok on the train right?

Plus, the pass has other befenits? This is inconclusive on the site. Like subway in Milan? Or other cities? Or maybe a discount?

We would also love to visit Florence, Verona, Padova, and some cities around Venice.

Hello Diana,

Thanks for your reply.

If you wish to travel to 4-5 cities in Italy, you can purchase point to point ticket for your travel. However, if you wish to travel to many cities, you can purchase Eurail Italy Pass for your travel.

Please note, Subway and Metro travel is not included in the Pass.

To purchase Eurail Italy Pass click "Here".

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

If you wish to purchase point to point ticket, kindly follow the below procedure.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

To purchase seat reservations, kindly follow the above procedure by clicking on "Seat reservations" tab which is on the homepage of our website.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy

To check the benefits of the Pass, kindly scroll down till you see Benefits on the Pass page and you can check accordingly.

You can compare the price of point to point ticket and Pass with seat reservations to see the difference in price and you can book accordingly.

Hope this helps!!!

Kind Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
