Is France - Italy train pass valid for metro, train and and high speed trains?

Hi There,

I'm planing to travel from Paris to Zurich to Rome to Venice to Milan. So can I use any type of train services between this journey Including Metro, Train, Bullet Trains ?

I'm planing to buy France - Italy Train pass for this Journey, but not sure this is the right option,? because I'm hoping to travel Zurich as well. ?

Is there any additional local chargers for when I make bookings in Europe? except Train Pass cost?

Is there any restriction for refund the train passes If I did not use ?

Could you please explain me the validity of 4 Day train pass? Do I need to use this pass 04 days continually ?

Looking forward to hearing from you.?

Hello Neo,

Thanks for the question.

As you are travelling only few cities it is best to purchase point to point ticket for your travel. You can book and travel as follows:

- Paris to Zurich - TGV Lyria train.

- Zurich to Rome via 1 connection at Milan - Eurocities and Frecciarossa trains.

- Rome to Venice - Frecciarossa train.

- Venice to Milan - Frecciabianca train.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

France Italy Pass is not valid for travel on metro, it is only for travel from one city to another by train. Also the pass is only valid on travel in France and Italy and not valid for travel to Switzerland.

As you are travelling high speed train route you will need seat reservation which is mandatory and will cost extra.

Refund depends on the After Sales Policy of the fare you are booking. You can check the After Sales Policy by clicking on the Fare Details tab.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Amar, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
