How do i reserve my seats for the trains as I have bought the Renfe Spain Pass?

Hi there,

My husband and I will be travelling to Spain in April and have bought the Renfe Spain Pass. We understand that we need to reserve the seats for the trains before travelling. We tried to do that on the website but were unable to find the Renfe Spain Pass in the drop-down list.

Could you kindly advise on how do we go about reserving for the seats? We do not wish to miss the trains. :)

Hello Megdeline,

Thanks for the question.

The fare/fee for the Seat Reservation is already included in the Renfe Spain Pass. You just need to go to the ticket counter to reserve the seats, but do not pay for them. Seat reservations are subject to availability.

Hope this clarifies!!!

I am curious.

You mentioned "just need to go to the ticket counter to reserve the seats."

What if I go to the ticket counter to reserve seats and there is possibility that no seats available? Then I do not have seats for my coming train?

If I use "Renfe Spain Pass", could I reserve seats in advance (like 2-3days before) on website?

Hello Wan-Ching Su,

Thanks for the question.

Seat reservation is already included in Renfe Spain Pass. You will need to visit the ticket counter at the departure train station and retrieve the seat reservations. You will need to show the Pass and take seat reservations which is subject to availability.

If seats are not available for that particular train, you can retrieve seats for the next available train. Please note, it is subject to availability.

Seat reservations cannot be booked on the website with a Renfe Spain Pass. If you are at a particular city in Spain for many days, you can retrieve seat reservations ahead of your travel date as well.

Hope this helps!!!

Kind Regards,
