Having rail pass for 3 countries, we still need to pay additional fares?

Hi I will be travelling to europe with routes Zurich, Switzerland (3 days) - Munich, Germany (2 days) - Vienna Austria (2 days)

Thinking to buy rail pass for 3 countries but when I tried to search the train from Zurich - Munich (having tick "i have rail pass" and "eurail select pass for 3 countries 2nd class"), confuse why still showing the fares of 2nd class and 1st class. I thought if i buy the 3 countries pass, I only need to pay seat reservation when required? Does it mean i should pay additional fees for the ticket?

Also is it better for me to buy swiss rail pass for my trip in Switzerland?

Kindly advise. Thank you.

Hello Heny,

Thanks for the question.

May we know all the cities you wish to travel and the order of the route with the pass and date so I can check and assist regarding the routes which require reservation or not.

Kind Regards,

Amar, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
