Germany-Switzerland Pass or Individual tickets?

Hello!

I have the following itinerary, would a pass or a point-to-point ticket be relevant? (not an EU citizen)

Day 1: Frankfurt to Zurich

Day 2: Zurich to Bern and back.

Day 3: Zurich to St. Gallen and back

Day 4: Zurich to Lucerne and back.

Day 5: Zurich to Frankfurt.

Day 6: Frankfurt to Munich and back.

Day 7: Frankfurt to Vallendar and back.

Day 8: Frankfurt to Heidelberg and back.

Day 9: Departure from Frankfurt.

The cheapest option would be preferable, and something that does not require prior reservation as the itinerary may change.

Hello Simran,

Thanks for the question.

As per your Itinerary, it is best to purchase Eurail Germany - Switzerland Pass for your travel.

To purchase the Pass click "Here".

If you are unsure of your travel date, you can purchase seat reservations locally at the train station subject to availability. If you wish to change your Itinerary, you can drop your query and we will assist you with the best option.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

In order to book seat reservations, please visit our website.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on “Seat Reservations” & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
