Europe travel from UK, France and Italy

Hello!

A group of us are planning to go to Europe for our trip, from 17th June to 8th July. Since we're travelling to many countries, we plan to get the Britrail England Pass and the Euro Global pass. I'm aware that we will need to reserve tickets if we are travelling across borders, ie. to different country but do we also need to reserve the tickets if we're travelling within the country? Our plan is to go from London - Manchester - Edinburgh - Nottingham - Paris - Lourdes - Nice - Florence - Rome - Munich - Milan. Could you please advise us on whether we should reserve our tickets in advance? Thank you!

Hello Felicia,

Thanks for your question.

Passes can be purchased up to 6 months before your first day of travel. The pass must be validated within 6 months from the original date of issue.

All trains that travel internationally, night trains, scenic trains and high speed trains will require reservations.

I suggest that you make your seat reservations online prior to departure, to avoid fully booked trains and disruption of your travel plans.

Also booking online would save standing in queue at the station & would also be more convenient in terms of promptness.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking here & then feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thank you for the prompt reply. Could I clarify a few things?

1. What do you mean by scenic trains?

2. How do you know which train is the high speed train?

3. Is it possible to avoid all these reservation thing if we choose to stop to more cities which are on the way? Let's say if I want to go to Lourdes from paris, can I take train to Tolouse then to Lourdes? Will those trains need reservation as well?

4. All of us are actually uder 26 yo so we're thinking of booking the Youth tickets, which is the 2nd class individual tickets. Will this affect when we try to reserve seats, ie. does every train (which need reservation) has all the classes including individual 2nd class?

Thank you so much.

Hello Felicia,

Thanks for your reply.

Please note that with a pass you can travel free on the regional train of the countries covered by your pass.

All trains that travel internationally, night trains, and high speed trains will require reservations.

As per your travel there are no scenic train. However some high speed train trains would include Frecciarossa, Frecciabianca, Italo ,Thello and TGV trains.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps.
