Hello Jatinder,

Thanks for your question.

You would have to travel as follows:

- Essen to Paris via Frankfurt or MannheimICE trains (You would have to purchase point to point tickets)

- Paris to BaselTGV Lyria train (You would have to purchase point to point tickets)

As you are travelling extensively within Switzerland, Swiss Pass will be more helpful. With a Swiss Pass you can travel free within Switzerland on the STS (Swiss Travel System) network on trains, buses and boats. Also with a Swiss Pass you would get discounts on mountain excursions within Switzerland. This discounts can only be availed locally by showing your Swiss Pass to the ticketing office in Switzerland.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains.

With a Pass the seat reservations will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares).

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "book a compulsory seat reservation when using your rail pass & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

If you wish to tour Paris , I suggest that you purchase a Paris Pass. The Paris Pass offers you the most romantic city in the world, its attractions and shopping galleries at a bargain deal. From museums and monuments to urban transport and restaurants, the Paris Pass is dedicated to helping you make the most of Paris, whilst also allowing you save both time and money.

Hello Jatinder,

Thanks for your question.

You would have to travel as follows:

- Paris to BaselTGV Lyria train

Please note that passholder fares have been discontinued for this sector. You would have to purchase point to point tickets.

However for your travel within Switzerland you would get passholder fares.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then Add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.
