Destinations covered by Swiss Travel Pass

Hi, I have bought a Swiss Travel Pass and I wish to confirm that the following journeys are covered by the pass

  1. 13 Dec 2016: Zurich to Lucern
  2. 15 Dec 2016: Lucerne to Interlaken
  3. 16 Dec 2016: Interlaken to Zermatt
  4. 21 Dec 2016: Zermatt to Geneva

Also, do I need seat reservation for the above journeys? I tried to reserve seats online, but the results came back citing that some journeys were not covered by my pass. Please help!

Thank you very much!

Hello Patrick,

Thanks for the question.

As per your itinerary you can travel as below:

- Zurich to Lucerne - Travel free with the Pass.

- Lucerne to Interlaken - Scenic Train - seat reservation mandatory.

- Interlaken to Zermatt via 2 connection at Spiez and Visp - Other trains and Eurocities - Travel free with the Pass.

- Zermatt to Geneva via 1 connection at Visp - Other trains - Travel free with the Pass.

Hence you need seat reservation only for Lucerne to Interlaken. You can follow the below procedure to make seat reservation.

In order to book seat reservations, please visit our website.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on “Seat Reservations” & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Amar, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
