Hello Nguien,

Thanks for your question.

You would have to travel as follows:

- Nice to Ventimiglia – TER train. You can travel with your pass. Reservations are not mandatory on this sector.

- Ventimiglia to Milan – Intercity train. With a pass covering Italy, you would get passholder fares (discounted fares). Reservation is required on this sector.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains.

With a Pass the seat reservations will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares).

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "book a compulsory seat reservation when using your rail pass & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your answer. It would be great if you could advise me as I will be in France from 31 Aug to 13 Sep and in Italy from 13 Sep to 18 Sep, and I travel much from one city to another, so I have some questions as below:

1/ To get France Pass for 9 days (from 31 Aug to 8 Sep)

2/ Another Pass in France for 5 days (till 13 Sep) ?

3/ Italy Pass for 5 days

4/ France Pass can be used for the train from CDG airport to downtown of Paris?

Thank you very much,

Hello Nguien,

Thanks for your question.

I suggest that you purchase a Eurail France – Italy Pass.

Please note that from one station is Paris to another the best way to travel is by local metro provided you have minimum luggage. You would have to book the same locally. This will not be covered by the pass.

With this pass you can travel unlimited on the national rail networks of France and Italy.

Hello Nguien,

Thanks for your question.

A rail day lasts from midnight to midnight. You can take as many trains as you wish during this time.

Many passes offer travel days that are flexible. The 10 days of travel allow the traveler to choose the days that they want to travel in a 2 month time period.

Example: If a pass is valid from July 1 to August 31. The traveler can then select 10 dates to travel on the train from July 1 to August 31. The days can be consecutive or nonconsecutive.

If the above does not work for your travel , request you to book separate Eurail Italy Pass and France Rail Pass.

Hope this helps.

Dear Aamir,

It would be great if you could advise : my boarding from CDG airport to Paris Center (by RER line B after getting a voucher "contremarque") with France Rail Pass is considered as the first boarding, do I need to validate my Pass there before boarding, even with a voucher? Thank you very much

Hello Nguien,

Thanks for your question.

The France Rail Pass is valid on RER Line B between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Nord Station (not the other way): Prior to boarding RER, proceed to the SNCF-Transilien ticket counter in Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle and ask for a “contremarque” voucher

France Rail Pass is also valid on RER C line. This can only be availed and booked locally

Hope this helps.
