Can I make a second class seat reservation when travelling with a Eurail Global Pass

We are travelling from Wiesbaden to Utrecht on 29 June 2014 and have hotel accommodation in Amersfoort, but is struggling with the seat reservation. Under "book a seat reservation" when I select 1st class, nothing comes up. When I select the 2nd class box, all the trains are there. My question is: can I book and reserve a second class ticket while travelling with the global pass? The phrase: "make sure that the selected class of service matches the one which is mentioned on your rail pass" confuses me.

Hello Maria,

Thanks for your question.

Yes with a Eurail Global Pass, you can travel on a second class.

However may I request you not to select any pass and then proceed you would get the first class schedule.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "book a compulsory seat reservation when using your rail pass & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website

Hope this helps.
