Budapest to Vienna. Using European East railpass. Pass does not exist in rail europe website.

Hi there

I am having trouble sorting out how to utilise my Euro Eastern railpass that I purchased in New Zealand in Sept. Issued 16 Sep 2015. I am in Budapest and want to travel to Vienna by ÖBB railjet (with a friend who is just going to buy normal ticket). I have had trouble choosing booking option of -reservation only- for this trip (and I am concerned about more i.e. Vienna to prague in a few more days). RAILEUROPE website and ÖBB dont have options to select my rail pass when booking anything. I assume this might be to do with Migrant crisis and tightening of rules? If you could please tell me how best to sort this issue that would be amazing! Perhaps talking to someone over the phone could be a possibility due to the complex nature of this problem

Thank you =)

Hello Samuel,

Thanks for your question.

With a Pass the seat reservations will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares).

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "Seat Reservations“ & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!
