Hello Roger,

Thanks for your question.

Yes, you got that right. Angers or Tours would be major stations where you would get better connections from.

You would have to book and travel locally from Boisme to Thouars. And then connections to Anger or Tours.

Hope this helps!!!

The anticipated journey is CdG airport Paris to Boisme then (3 days later)Boisme to Plestan.

Is Anger the best station for the in & out journey.

What is the best routing from Anger on the out journey.

Hello Roger,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes Angers would be ideal for your travel to Plestan. You can travel as follows:

- Angers to Rennes via Le Mans or NantesTER trains or TGV Interconnexion and TGV Atlantique trains.

- Rennes to Plestan via Lamballe – TER trains. However there is a direct TER train.

And there are direct TGV Interconnexion trains from Paris CDG to Angers as well.

Hope this helps!!!

I am advised that a better station to use for a visit to LAGASTE is Vire instead of Plestan.

Would this be correct?

If we travel from either Vire or Plestan back to Paris which station would we arrive at in Paris?

I did advise my travel plans in earlier comms.

The anticipated overall journey is:

1)By rail - CdG airport Paris to visit the town of BOISME for 3 days.

We understand that the closest station is THOUARS but is ANGERS a better choice?

We will be collected at whichever station is best.

2)By rail - BOISME to visit the town of LAGASTE for 3 days.

We understand that the closest station is PLESTAN but is VIRE a better choice?

We will be collected at whichever station is best.

3)By rail - LAGASTE to Paris.

What station would we arrive at in Paris?

4)We would then visit Paris and depart via CdG.

Thanks for your input.

Hello Roger,

Thanks for your question.

Plestan is closer Boisme. Vire is a bet further in teams of travel time and connections.

For your travel from Plestan to Lacoste, travel as follows:

- Plestan to Paris Montparnasse via St Brieuc - TER and TGV Atlantique trains.

- Paris Gare Lyon to Avignon TGV – TGV Duplex train.

- Avignon to Lacoste – This leg of your journey you would have to be booked locally.

You can book the first leg of your journey from our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

SORRY THAT IS A USELESS ANSWER.

Please read my answer as to the 'anticipated overall journey'.

You asked for detail of my journey but you did not read my detailed response.

There is no intention to travel to LACOSTE - the destination is LAGASTE.

sorry but I had been given a bad spelling for one of the destinations which confused both me and your agent (Anthony) to whom I apologize.

Hereafter is the corrected information.

The anticipated overall journey is:

1)By rail - CdG airport Paris to visit the town of BOISME for 3 days.

We understand that the closest station is THOUARS but is ANGERS a better choice?

We will be collected at whichever station is best.

2)By rail - BOISME to visit the town of Le GAST (in the Calvados Dept.) for 3 days.

We understand that the closest station is VIRE but is there a better choice?

We will be collected at whichever station is best.

3)By rail - Le GAST to Paris.

What station would we arrive at in Paris?

4)We would then visit Paris for 3 days and depart via CdG.

Apologies once again.

Thanks for your input.

Hello Roger,

Thanks for your question.

Travel as follows:

- Paris CDG to AngersTGV Atlantique train.

- Angers to Thouars – TER train.

- Thouars to Boisme (return) – You would need to book this segment locally

- Thouars to Angers – TER train.

- Angers to Le Mans – TER train.

- Le Mans to Vire via Argentan – Intercites trains.

- Vire to Le Gast (return) – You would need to book this segment locally.

- Vire to Paris – Intercites train.

I would suggest the Paris Pass which would give you benefits and more:

Free entry to over 50 of Paris’ world famous attractions, including the Louvre Museum, Arc of Triumph, Notre Dame, Palace of Versailles, Orsay Museum, Tropical Aquarium, Grevin Wax Museum etc. Get a free passage on Seine River Day Cruise with Bateaux Parisiens, Tour Maine-Montparnasse, Tenniseum of Roland Garros.

With a Paris Pass you will benefit from unlimited travel time on the Metro, buses, tramway and RER within central Paris.

As you are travelling extensively, I suggest that you purchase a France Rail Pass.

Passes can be purchased 6 months in advance.

With a Pass you can avail of unlimited travel on the national rail networks of the countries covered by your pass.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains.

With a Pass the seat reservations will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares).

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "Seat Reservations” & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy

Thanks for all the very useful information.

1)You omitted to advise which station we would arrive at in Paris if we travel from Vire.

We need to know this for purposes of hotel reservations.

2)If we have purchased a France Rail Pass can reservations be made on line in advance?

Do the pass only 'activate' from the first day of travel?

3)Is the GRAND REX CINEMA the only location for exchanging the voucher to Paris Pass?

Is there no facility at CdG airport?

you did not answer my questions 1 & 2 as in the above post?

If the plan is to visit Boisme is it correct to say that Angers is the correct station.

Our hosts insist that Angers is a different locationand is not the correct spelling and that the correct spelling of the best station is ANGES.

Please advise.

Hello Roger,

Thanks for your reply.

To start off with, you would have to travel from Angers/Ange to Thouars. So the closest station to Boisme is Thouars.

You would arrive at Paris Montparnasse station. There are 3 parts to the station, you would arrive at what they call Paris Mont 3 Vaug.

And lastly yes you can make reservations on our website but reservations only apply for High-Speed trains like the TGV’s, Night trains like the City Night Line, Any border crossing trains like the TGV Lyria which goes onward to Switzerland and Scenic trains which you would mostly find on the Alpine region and Switzerland extensively.

In order to make reservations, visit our website and follow the given instructions.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "Seat Reservations“ & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.
