Hello Melissa,

Thanks for your question.

You could travel as follows:

Vienna to Interlaken via Zurich and Bern – Eurocity and ICE train

Interlaken to Zermatt via Spiez and Visp – Eurocity and Other train

Zermatt to St Moritz – On Glacier Express train

St Moritz to Tirano – On Bernina Express train

Tirano to Zurich HB via Chur / St Moritz and Chur – Regional and Eurocity train.

Zurich HB to Zurich Flughafen Airport – local train

For your travel within Switzerland I would suggest that you purchase a Swiss Pass. However for your travel from Vienna to Zurich you would have to purchase point to point tickets.

With a Swiss Pass you would be able to travel free within Switzerland on the STS (Swiss Travel System ) network on trains, buses and boats. Also with a Swiss Pass you would get discounts on mountain excursions within Switzerland.

Passes can be purchased up to 6 months before your first day of travel. The pass must be validated within 6 months from the original date of issue.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains ( i.e. Glacier Express train ) and border crossing trains and can only be done 3 months in advance.

However with a Swiss Pass the seat reservation will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares).

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking here & then feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Hope this helps.

Hello Aamir,

I haven´t been able to find the discounted fare for two seat reservations on the Glacier Express using our Swiss Flexi Pass. Could you tell me the cost and how I can make the booking?

When I go to Online Reservation for Pass Holders, and then to "Book a Seat Reservation", I enter St. Moritz on the form and always get the message "The destination city you entered is unknown".

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking here

You could travel as follows: Zermatt to St Moritz – On Glacier Express train

As fares are dynamic and subject to change, I cannot give fare quotations. I request you to check directly on our website.

Thanks Aamir, but the problem persists! When I click

on that link and type in St. Moritz, I get the message “The destination city you entered is

unknown".

Please inform me if there is a discount on the reservations for Glacier

Express if I use a Swiss Flexi Pass.

Hello Magdalena,

Please do not add a full stop after St. search with out adding a full stop.

Type as St Moritz and not as St. Moritz

Hope this helps.
