Kindly please advise, what is the best RailEurop Pass.

For France passholder reservations, can I pre-book seats before departure at station?

I am planning a trip for 2, to France in September 2018.

From Paris, by train Gare de Lyone to Gare de Nice-Ville, spend 2 nights.

Nice to Bordeaux, spend 1 night.

Bordeaux to Nantes, spend 1 night.

Hello Martha,

Thanks for the question.

As per your itinerary, Eurail France Pass is advised for your travel.

To purchase the Pass click "Here".

As you will be in Paris for 6 days, you can purchase Paris Pass. We do have 6 days validity period in Paris Pass.

To purchase Paris Pass click "Here".

You can purchase seat reservations in advance of your travel and the same is advised as seats get sold out quickly due to peak season in Europe and seat reservation purchased locally from the train station is subject to availability.

Please note the below details about seat reservations with a Pass:

TER train – Free seating.

TGV and Intercites trains - Compulsory seat reservations

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will receive pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

Kindly note that pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "I have a rail Pass" on the home page of our website under "Book Train tickets" & then select the name of the pass and feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on "Search". Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!
