Best choice but least expensive to travel across three or more countries

Hello.

I want to travel across three countries: Nice-Monaco; Monaco-Geneva; Geneva-Gstaad; Gstaad-Milan; Milan-Venice; Venice-Bologna. These are consecutive but within almost 3 weeks (probably one or two nights stay for some cities).

Then after a week of stay in Bologna, Bologna-Florence; Florence-Pisa; Pisa-Rome; Rome-Naples; Naples-Rome. Again, in consecutive days but with some 1 or 2 nights stay in some of these cities.

My travel would be at the end of May and beginning of June.

I read about Rail pass for multiple countries, but I do not understand whether only this pass is enough to travel or other payments and costs should be made?

I do not know which and what is the best way to transport and the probable expenses?! Would you please advise and let me know about the best choices and least expensive?

Those cities are my final plan for this trip so, Would you please help me with direct and conclusive solution?

Thanks a lot.

Hello Bahman,

Thanks for the question.

As per your itinerary, it is best to purchase Point to Point tickets for your travel in France and Switzerland and for your travel in Italy it is best to purchase Eurail Italy Pass.

You can book and travel as follows :

- Nice to MonacoTER train.

- Monaco to Geneva via Nice –TER and TGV trains.

- Geneva to Gstaad via Montreux – Intercity and Eurocities train.

To purchase Eurail Italy Pass click “Here”.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass.

In order to book seat reservations, please visit our website.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on “Seat Reservations” & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
