5 days of travel in June- July under 15 days- point to point travel- pass or individual tickets?

My travel is in the following order ( family of 2 adults+ 1 child 14 year old)

Prague- Budapest,Budapest- Ljublijana, Lujublijana- Salzburg, Salzburg- Innsbruck, Innsbruck- Vienna

First Prague and ending in Vienna is fixed. the other places can be interchanged if a more comfortable travel plan is advised.

1. Is this plan good enough?

2. Budapest to Ljublijana has 2 trains one over night and a day train, which one is advisable ? also the trains that connect these 2 cities are they covered in the 4 country select pass ?

3. Night trains need a berth/seat reservation I presume. Can we reserve the berths in advance? or at the station? is online reservation permitted?

4. Is smoking permitted in all these trains?

Hello Junaid,

Thanks for the question.

As per your Itinerary, it is best to purchase point to point ticket for your travel. You can book and travel as follows:

- Prague to Budapest - Eurocities train.

- Budapest to Ljubljana via Vienna and Maribor - Railjet, Eurocities and Intercity trains.

- Ljubljana to Salzburg - Eurocities train.

- Salzburg to Innsbruck - Railjet train.

- Innsbruck to Vienna - Railjet train.

Yes, you can follow the above route for your travel.

You can travel on day train or night train as per your convenience.

To view the type of seat on a night train, please click on the “Fare Details” tab which is below "Proceed to Shopping Cart" to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

All the trains in Europe are Non smoking.

Kindly note, as Youth age is from 12 to 25 years, 14 year old will need to purchase Youth ticket.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Thank you very much for such a detailed answer. Really appreciated. We have now dropped Slovenia from the plan so it will be Prague- Budapest- Salzburg- Innsbruck- Vienna. Do you advise the same as in buy point to point tickets or a pass ? travel dates are fixed
