4 pax. Rome to Venice to Switzerland to Paris to GBR. How to book online and get more details
We are planning a trip to Europe circa mid June. The idea is to fly to Rome and depart from GBR. We want to visit the above cities including Edinburgh and Leicester. How do I plan a railway itinerary incorporating scenic routes (with cost being a factor) esp along the swiss alps.

Hello Gurpreet,
Thanks for your question.
Book and travel as follows:
- Rome to Venice – Frecciarossa train.
- Venice to Milan – Frecciabianca train.
- Milan to Zurich – Cisalpino train.
- Zurich to Paris – TGV Lyria train.
- Paris to London – Eurostar train.
- London to Leicester – ATOC train.
- Leicester to Edinburgh via Derby – ATOC trains.
For Swiss scenic trains, I would request you to check our travel magazine “Connexion” which will help you to select the most ideal scenic train.
If you would be traveling extensively within Switzerland, then I would recommend that you purchase a Swiss Travel Pass which would give you the following benefits:
Children below 16 years are free if accompanied by the adults having a Swiss Pass. We issue a Swiss family card for children
With a Swiss Travel Pass you can travel free within Switzerland on the STS (Swiss Travel System) network on trains, buses and boats. Also with a Swiss Pass you would get discounts on mountain excursions within Switzerland. These discounts can only be availed locally by showing your Swiss Pass to the ticketing office in Switzerland.
With a Swiss Travel Pass you can travel free on intercity trains within Switzerland.
For the rest of your travel, you could purchase point to point tickets rather than a pass.
In order to book tickets, please visit our website.
The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "Seat Reservations“ & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.
Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.
Hope this helps!!!
